Washing advice

- All clothes bought in our shops should be clearly labelled with advice on the type of fabric and product care.

- Advice on the type of fabric provides information about what type of plant or animal the fibre is made from, for example cotton, linen, wool or artificial fibres such as viscose, acetate, polyamide or acrylic.

- Care labels provide information concerning the hardest treatments that the fabric can tolerate, for example the highest temperature, or if the item must be washed separately to avoid colouring other clothes.

- The first thing you should do before you buy a new item is to read the care instructions. It is in fact more and more common for clothes producers to cover themselves by stating that their clothes can be cleaned or if necessary washed at 30C. It is also not uncommon that items of clothing simply cannot be washed at all. The least you can expect of clothes to be used daily is that they can be machine washed at a minimum 40C.
